Customers vote for Pizza Hut

19/01/2009

In October 2008, we temporarily changed our name to Pasta Hut to mark the addition of 12 Tuscani pastas to the menu and highlight the significant changes that had taken place over recent years. Now after three months and due to popular demand we are returning to the much loved Pizza Hut.

In an extensive six-year refurbishment programme which began in 2004, we announced that we would be investing £100 million in our estate. In 2008 alone, we spent £17 million updating more than 100 restaurants with a contemporary new look and state of the art equipment. Changes were also made to the nutritional content of our menu, with the salt and sat fat levels significantly reduced. We also overhauled our kids menu including dishes with hidden veg and offering a free kids salad with every meal.

During the campaign we asked our customers to vote on whether we should change our name to 'Pasta Hut'. However, although our customers clearly loved our new pasta menu, the results of our online poll revealed that more than 81  per cent wanted us to keep the name ‘Pizza Hut' which is why the Pasta Hut trial has ended.

Rest assured, our pasta launch was only the beginning of the changes at Pizza Hut. You will continue to see many more exciting changes in the business and across our menu. We also understand the need to offer great deals during these difficult economic times and currently have some fantastic offers in our restaurants and for delivery. Visit Pizza Hut and click on the Menu and Deals tab to take advantage of them.
