About our People

People make Pizza Hut Restaurants what it is: our guests and our staff. We want everyone to leave our restaurants with a smile on their face every day and that’s why our entire company vision is to be ‘The Most Loved Place to Eat and Work’. Pretty easy, huh?

But how does that vision translate into everyday work?

We don’t see a job at Pizza Hut Restaurants as something that makes you a bit of extra cash. All our team members receive the whole shebang when it comes to on-boarding training as soon as they join. They also receive emotional and behavioural training and techniques to cope with stress and anxiety, as well as coaching on empathy, the ability to relate and compassion. We call it ‘skills for life’.


We make sure every team member has the ability to apply for our Degree Level Apprenticeship programme, which is unique in our industry! We offer the complete pathway to degree level from entry trainee work experience for both front and back of house. Apprentices learn in the classroom 24 days a year. The rest of the time, they learn on the job.

"When I left school, as a dyslexic I was always told that I could not achieve anything in my life and I would be stuck in a dead end job. I joined Pizza Hut 12 years ago as a team member and progressed through the ranks to Deputy Manager. When the degree programme was announced I decided to go for it, I’d previously had two attempts at completing a degree, but I hadn’t had much luck, firstly due to illness and secondly because of a car accident.

When I got offered a place I knew I couldn’t turn it down, it was the perfect way for me to work and study and not have any debt.  Since starting the degree programme I have learnt so much that I have been able to apply in the workplace, further develop myself, I’ve been promoted to Restaurant General Manager running a busy city centre restaurant and got engaged – life couldn’t be better."

Believe it or not, some restaurants don’t let their staff keep their tips. That’s just mean, isn’t it? Our team members keep 100% of their tips because they earned them. Cash tips are kept by the server who served the guest, card tips are distributed fairly to the team and we don’t take any sneaky cuts or handling fees.


We don’t have any zero hour contracts in our business and all team members are paid either on or above the new national minimum or living wage.  Management salaries are benchmarked to ensure we pay the market rate or above.
