Pizza Hut and Jean Christophe Novelli strike gold as they salad dress to impress

20/04/2009
Pizza Hut today announced that TV chef Jean Christophe Novelli has created a limited edition dressing containing some of the most luxurious ingredients on the high-street including gold and champagne to celebrate the launch of the new look Pizza Hut Salad Station.
This exclusive creation, called the ‘Little Black Dressing’, will be available in ten Pizza Hut restaurants across the UK for a launch period of two weeks (between 20th April and 1st May) and will be free to try for any customers experiencing the new look Salad Station (while stocks last).
The dressing, which has a light and fruity flavour, contains real gold leaf, Vintage Moet Champagne, English Honey, Vanilla, Orange Oil and Chinese Five Spice amongst other things. It has been created to highlight the new quality range of salad ingredients available in Pizza Hut, which include cherry tomatoes, cos lettuce and cous cous.
“For many women a little black dress is the perfect way to make themselves feel effortlessly stylish,” explains Michelin starred Chef Jean Christophe-Novelli. “I thought it would be great to work with Pizza Hut to put the style into salad and create a really luxurious dressing. It was also a great way to encourage people to try the new ingredients on the Salad Station and be creative themselves.”
“Our new range adds a more quality experience to the Salad Station,” commented Claudia Nicholls-Magielsen, Marketing Director for Pizza Hut restaurants. “Alongside some of the old favourites, we now also have the likes of humous and Moroccan Cous Cous. Pizza Hut has always been about providing great value dining experiences to our customers and with the new look Salad Station we are increasing our range and quality even further.”
Jean Christophe Novelli has also developed a series of five recipes for salads that each offer customers a specific lifestyle benefit. Whether it’s the ‘Food For Thought Salad’, created to keep you on the ball for the whole day, or the ‘Naughty But Nice Salad’, which is full of pleasure but without the guilt, each recipe features the ingredients available on the Salad Station. The recipes for all five salads will be available in Pizza Hut’s restaurants for customers to be inspired by.
Jean Christophe explains: “Salad can sometimes seem a bit traditional and not very exciting but with more than 25 new ingredients available at the Pizza Hut Salad Station there are millions of combinations of tastes and flavours. I’ve created these recipes to provide inspiration but the options to be creative are almost limitless.”
